Okko Kamu, sensaatiomainen lahjakkuus ja suomalaisen musiikkielämän legenda viettää 80-vuotisjuhliaan entisen kotiorkesterinsa seurassa. Illan aikana kuullaan Kamun bravuurit, Jean Sibeliuksen seikkailuhenkinen sävelruno Satu sekä seitsemäs sinfonia.

Uransa ilmiömäisenä viulistilahjakkuutena aloittanut Kamu ponnahti maailmalle vuonna 1969, kun hän voitti ensimmäisen Herbert von Karajan -kilpailun Berliinissä. Sittemmin hän on vieraillut liki kaikissa maailman parhaista orkestereista ja oopperataloista. Ylikapellimestarikautensa Sinfonia Lahdessa Kamu huipensi Sibeliuksen sinfonioiden kokonaislevytykseen.

Tänä keväänä 80 vuotta täyttävä Kamu juhlii pyöreitä vuosia entisen kotiorkesterinsa seurassa. Syntymäpäiväkonsertissaan hän tarttuu uransa tärkeimpiin kiintotähtiin, Sibeliuksen mystiikkaa tihkuvaan nuoruuden sävelrunoon Satu sekä seitsemänteen sinfoniaan, seesteiseen iltahämärään päättyvään sinfoniamuodon testamenttiin.

Nopeaa nousua kotimaisten pianistien kärkikastiin tekevä Ossi Tanner on Sinfonia Lahden solistina jo tuttu näky. Ossi Tanner tulkitsee romanttisen pianokirjallisuuden kirkkaimman kruunun, Pjotr Tšaikovskin ensimmäisen pianokonserton.
