Mykkäanimaatio Lumiukko täyttää Sibeliustalon jälleen joulumielellä. Howard Blaken tunnepitoinen musiikki ja Raymond Briggsin puhutteleva tarina ovat tehneet Lumiukosta kestosuosikin, jonka sanoma koskettaa katsojia ylisukupolvisena kokemuksena.

Raymond Briggsin satukirjaan perustuva Lumiukko on tarina ystävyydestä, toiveista ja mielikuvituksen voimasta. Pieni James-poika herää keskellä yötä huomatakseen, että hänen pihalle rakentamansa lumiukko on herännyt henkiin. Kaksikko ystävystyy nopeasti, ja pian he jo lentävät yhdessä yli Englannin nummien, Norjan vuonojen ja revontulien loistossa hohtavan pohjoisnavan. Koskettavaa kertomusta säestää Howard Blaken kaihoisa musiikki ja etenkin Lumiukon ikimuistoinen tunnussävelmä Walking in the Air.

Lumikko-animaatio on jo yli 40 vuoden ajan aloittanut joulunvieton televisioruudun välityksellä. Nyt se koetaan Sibeliustalon suurelta valkokankaalta Ruut Kiiskin johtaman Sinfonia Lahden säestämänä. Yhtä lailla lapsia kuin aikuisia puhutteleva mykkäelokuva on sukupolvia yhdistävä kokemus, joka jättää lähtemättömän jäljen myös tänä jouluna.

Konsertin kesto noin 30 min, ei väliaikaa.
