Dmitri Šostakovitš: Sinfonia no 5

Yksikään neuvostosäveltäjä ei välttynyt Josif Stalinin mielivallalta. Dmitri Šostakovitš selvisi pahimmasta kirjoittamalla viidennen sinfonian neuvostokansalaisen riemulle ja sinnikkyydelle, vaikka sen pinnan alla kytevä sanoma on jotain aivan muuta.

Suosionsa huipulta musiikin mustalle listalle sysätty Dmitri Šostakovitš pelasti uransa uudistamalla tyyliään pakon edessä ja pikavauhdilla. Hurmokseen päättyvää viidettä sinfoniaa tulkittiinkin Šostakovitšin anteeksipyynnöksi aiemmista, pessimismiä levittäneistä sävellyksistään. Totuus oli toisenlainen: teokseen piilotettu pilkka ja paheksunta osoitti suoraan valtiovallan huipulle.

Maineikkaan Kammerakademie Potsdamin tuore taiteellinen johtaja, Lahteen palaava François Leleux on myös maailman todennäköisesti ylistetyin oboisti sekä englannintorven taitaja. Sibeliustaloon hän tuo Maurice Ravelin ikisuosikin, keskiaikaisiin kansansatuihin perustuvan Hanhiemo-sarjan sekä Suomessa harvoin kuullun ranskalaisherkun, Claude Debussyn rapsodian vuodelta 1901.
